Declaration of readiness of Algeria and Egypt to help the victims of the earthquake in Syria

Pak Sahafat – The presidents of Algeria and Egypt stressed that they are ready to help the victims of the Syrian earthquake in a phone call with their Syrian counterpart.

According to the International group of Pak Sahafat news agency, in a phone call with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, Algerian President Abdelmajid Taboun expressed his condolences for the death of a large number of people in this country during the earthquake.

The official Syrian news agency (SANA) reported that Algeria expresses its solidarity with Syria and is fully prepared to use all its efforts to reduce the severity of this painful tragedy.

Bashar Assad also thanked the government and people of Algeria for sending relief teams to participate in rescue operations and humanitarian aid sent by this country.

In a phone call with Assad, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi expressed his solidarity with Syria and said that Cairo will help the Syrian nation to overcome this great tragedy.

Bashar Assad also appreciated Egypt’s position and said that such positions show brotherly relations between two countries and two brotherly nations.

An earthquake with a magnitude of 7.8 degrees on the Richter scale, centered in Turkey, shook many parts of the West Asia region and the Eastern Mediterranean region at dawn (Monday).

Data from seismological centers indicated that this earthquake occurred on the border between Turkey and Syria and 26 kilometers northeast of Gaziantep, Turkey.

According to reports, this earthquake was recorded in Turkey, Syria, Lebanon, Palestine, Iraq, Jordan, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and parts of Ukraine and Europe including Greece, Bulgaria, etc.

The Syrian Ministry of Health also announced in a statement today: “The number of victims of the earthquake has increased to 1,448 injured and 769 killed in the provinces of Aleppo, Latakia, Hama, Idlib, and Tartous, and this is not the final figure.”
