Damascus: Washington has destroyed Syria’s resources and economy by supporting terrorists

Pak Sahafat – US assistance to terrorist groups in northeastern and northwestern Syria and its westernized mercenaries has destroyed Syria’s economic potential and looted its wealth.

According to Pak Sahafat News Agency from Sana, A statement from the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Refugees said that the Damascus government was not surprised by the US State Department statement authorizing economic activity in northeastern and western Syria, as the Washington government was behind the terrorist war in which Syria has more than 10 year is dealing with it.

The statement emphasized: Assistance to armed terrorist groups in northeastern and northwestern Syria by the United States and Western tools is what has led to the destruction of our country’s economic potential and the plunder of its wealth from cotton, oil, wheat and antiquities.

The government of Damascus announced: The US-Western approach to imposing unilateral sanctions has resulted in the destruction of Syria’s infrastructure and the killing of a number of innocent Syrians because they opposed participation in Washington and Western plans.

The Damascus government has stated that the US Treasury Department’s claim is nothing more than a continuation of this destructive approach, which is itself in conflict with the United States’ international commitment to counter-terrorism and Washington’s commitment to Syria’s territorial integrity.

Damascus saw the goal of the United States and the West in the disintegration of Syria, which was defeated by the stability of the army, the nation and its leaders.

The Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that the country is determined to defeat the new conspiracy and to support all forces behind it.

The US government announced on Friday that it would allow some foreign investment in areas of northern Syria that are outside the control of the government and that no sanctions would be imposed on these investments.

A Washington government official said: The move is aimed at helping an area previously controlled by ISIS. Private companies, including companies operating in neighboring countries, are ready to operate in some areas of northeastern Syria. The new license is part of a US strategy to defeat ISIS by supporting economic stability. This action does not allow any activity with the Syrian government and does not change any of the anti-terrorism sanctions.

Undersecretary of State Victoria Nuland has previously announced that Washington will issue a license that would free companies from US sanctions.

Although these areas have some oil reserves, a US diplomat said the permit is not only for oil but also for agriculture and reconstruction.

Syria has been under the toughest US sanctions since 2011 and the crisis began.
