The two Syrian and Russian ministerial committees responsible for coordinating the return of refugees announced at a meeting on Tuesday that the illegal military occupation of foreign forces in Syria is a major obstacle to the country’s prosperity.
According to Russia Today, the statement of the meeting reads: The joint meeting of the Coordination Headquarters between the two sides identified the main problems in the normal life of the Syrian people, which is the occupation of foreign forces in the territory of the independent Syrian state, which is a member of the United Nations.
The statement said that the occupation of Syria by foreign forces leads to the looting of natural resources and the emergence of hotbeds of tension in the region.
The statement also pointed to another negative factor, the policy of pressure on Syria and sanctions, which hinders the post-war reconstruction of the country and deprives Syrian citizens returning to normal life opportunities.

According to the statement, in order to overcome the obstacles that prevent the return of Syrian refugees to their country, as well as to restore peaceful life in the suffering land of Syria, the participation of the entire international community in resolving the country’s reconstruction problems and providing support is essential.
Damascus on Tuesday hosted a joint periodic meeting of the Russian-Syrian Coordination Headquarters for the Return of Refugees, attended by representatives of relevant UN agencies and international humanitarian organizations.
