Pak Sahafat – Director General of Middle East and African Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China, referring to China’s mediation in the recent agreement between Iran and Saudi Arabia, said that Chinese President Xi Jinping personally intervened to realize the agreement on the normalization of relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia and met with the heads of each countries held direct consultations in this regard.
According to Pak Sahafat News Agency’s report, “Wang Di” in an interview with China’s People’s Daily added: The resumption of diplomatic relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia has opened a new page in the relations between the two countries and is an example of resolving conflicts and differences through dialogue and consultation and has advanced the process of reconciliation and dialogue in these countries.
The agreement between Iran and Saudi Arabia has been widely supported by the people of the region and has been highly praised by the international community. We are happy that after Saudi Arabia and Iran announced the resumption of diplomatic relations, the delegations of the two countries are meeting and preparing to reopen the embassies and consulates of both sides.

Stating that the Middle East is an important region in the world where the central issues of the world are concentrated, he clarified: These sensitive issues have been raised for a long time and finding a suitable solution is not an easy task. Wang said: China will continue to play a constructive role in properly handling the focal issues in the world in accordance with the wishes of all countries, and with China’s new development, it will continue to bring new opportunities to countries around the world, including Middle East countries.
Ali Shamkhani, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, and “Masadeh Bin Mohammad Al-Aiban”, Minister of Advisor and Member of the Council of Ministers and National Security Advisor of Saudi Arabia, and “Wang Yi”, a member of the Political Office of the Central Committee of the Communist Party, agreed in Beijing on March 18th that Tehran and Riyadh after seven years, resume diplomatic relations once again with the mediation of China.
