Pak Sahafat – Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin said on Thursday that Beijing strongly condemns the burning of the Holy Quran and stands against any form of Islamophobia.
According to Pak Sahafat News Agency, citing Sputnik, Wang stated that “China strongly condemns the burning of the Quran” and added that Beijing has always opposed any form of Islamophobia.
The spokesperson of the Chinese Foreign Ministry emphasized that all civilizations should respect each other, be tolerant towards each other and learn from each other.
He added: What is called “freedom of expression” should not be a reason for conflict between civilizations. All religious feelings and beliefs should be respected.

The United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva on Wednesday approved the resolution proposed by the Islamic countries and condemned the insult to the Holy Quran and demanded that the High Commissioner for Human Rights investigate this issue and report.
This resolution, while strongly condemning insults to religions, including the recent actions of insulting the Holy Quran in some European countries, has called for the investigation of this issue by the High Commissioner for Human Rights and reporting to this council.
In this resolution, the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights and other mechanisms of the Human Rights Council have been asked to provide the necessary recommendations to countries to eliminate these legal gaps, taking into account the legal gaps in the criminalization of insulting religions.
America, England and Belgium on behalf of the European Union opposed the adoption of this resolution, but the Human Rights Council approved it with a decisive vote.
This meeting was held after a Swedish extremist burned the Holy Quran outside the main mosque of Stockholm, the capital of Sweden, in front of the eyes of about 200 Muslims. This heinous act has been widely condemned.
