American officials warned about underestimating Russia’s military power

Pak Sahafat – American officials have warned about underestimating the military power of the Russians and said that many elements of the Russian army have not been affected by the war and that the ground force of that country has become bigger despite suffering some losses.

According to Pak Sahafat News Agency, citing the military website, Christopher Cavoli, the head of the US European Command, on Wednesday in the Armed Forces Committee of the US House of Representatives, specifically mentioned the Russian submarine force and said that despite the presence of the Russian army in the Ukraine war, the country’s submarine force has been very active in the Atlantic Ocean in recent years.

He emphasized: Many parts of the Russian army have not been negatively affected by the conflict in Ukraine, and one of these parts is the Russian submarine force.

Cavoli added: “The Russians have become more active than we have seen in previous years, and their patrols in the Atlantic Ocean have reached the highest level.”

Despite the losses that the Russian army has suffered in the Ukraine war, American officials continue to warn that Russia is an “acute” threat to the security of Europe and the United States.

Cavoli said Ukraine is well-positioned for a spring counteroffensive against Russia’s military, but Russia remains a formidable adversary.

He added: The Russian ground force has decreased due to the war in Ukraine, but it has become bigger compared to the beginning of the war. Their air force suffered very little damage. They have lost 80 planes, but they have another 1,000 fighters and bombers. The Russian Navy also lost only one ship.

Celeste Wallander, the US Assistant Secretary of Defense for International Security Affairs, who appeared with Cavoli in the Armed Forces Committee of the US House of Representatives, warned against underestimating Russia’s military power, but said that it is “very unlikely” that Russia will capture all of Ukraine.
