Emphasizing the need to stop financial and military aid to Ukraine, Green said to Zelensky: It’s better to stop killing our boys and girls. They are not going to die in Ukraine.

Green belongs to the right wing of the Republican Party and is a supporter of former US President Donald Trump.

He supported the Congress resolution to stop aid to Kiev. Despite the continuation of large-scale Western aid to Ukraine, Zelensky still says that the country’s army is facing a shortage of artillery, ammunition, fighters and tanks.

On February 21, 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin, criticizing the West’s indifference to Moscow’s security concerns, recognized the independence of the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics in the Donbas region.

Three days later, on Thursday, February 24, in response to the expansion of NATO on its western border, Putin launched a military attack on Ukraine, which he called a “special operation”, and thus the tense relations between Moscow and Kiev turned into a military confrontation.

In response to this Russian action, America and Western countries have imposed extensive sanctions against Moscow and sent billions of dollars of weapons and military equipment to Kiev.
