Pak Sahafat – The Deputy Spokesperson of the US Ministry of Foreign Affairs claimed on the occasion of Press Freedom Day: It is expected that the new US report on the murder of American-Palestinian journalist Shirin Abu Aqla will announce that he was killed by an accidental shooting by the Israeli army.
According to Pak Sahafat News Agency, US State Department Deputy Spokesman Vedant Patel told reporters on Wednesday local time that the shooting was “unintentional” and due to “extremely tragic circumstances”, while confirming that the shooting by the Israeli army was probably the cause.
The statement of the Deputy Spokesman of the US Department of State comes after Chase Van Hollen, Democrat of Maryland, requested the publication of a new report by the US Security Coordinator for Israel and the Palestinian Authority (USSC), which investigated the martyrdom of Shirin Abu Aqla.

Patel said he had not seen the report, but “I think the US national security coordinator for Israel and the Palestinian Authority has not changed his conclusion from last summer on this matter.”
The deputy spokesperson of the US State Department claimed: “Since the tragic death of Shirin Abu Aqla, we have pressured Israel to closely examine its actions.” America condemns the killing of Abu Aqla and we continue to express our sympathies to his family.
“Shirin Abu Aqleh”, a reporter of Al Jazeera Qatar News Network, was killed by Israeli soldiers in the early morning of Wednesday (May 11, 2022) during an attack on the Jenin camp.
Abu Aqla’s martyrdom is not the first case in the Zionist regime’s murder of reporters and journalists, because according to Palestinian media reports, this regime has killed 45 journalists since 2000 and the beginning of the second intifada of the Palestinian people.
