Pak Sahafat – The US State Department rejected Russia’s claim that Washington was involved in sabotaging the Nord Stream 1 and 2 pipelines and called it ridiculous.
According to Pak Sahafat News Agency, Russia’s TASS news agency announced that Ned Price, head of the press service and spokesman of the US State Department, said this on Wednesday.
He said: The notion that the United States was in any way involved in the sabotage of these pipelines is ridiculous. This is nothing more than a Russian disinformation operation.
According to the Russian Prosecutor General’s Office, no later than September 26, deliberate actions were taken in the vicinity of Bornholm Island to damage the Nord Stream 1 and 2 gas pipelines along the Baltic Sea.

Some of the countries involved in the project of transferring gas from Russia to Europe (Nord Stream pipeline) considered the accident of gas leakage of this line to be deliberate and sabotage and wanted to conduct investigations in this field.
Josep Borrell, the head of the European Union’s foreign policy, announced today in a statement that the gas leak from the Nord Stream 2 pipeline was caused by an intentional act.
Borrell also promised that after the accident, the EU would increase protection of energy sector infrastructure and support “any investigation that will shed light on the how and why” of the accident.
The German publication Spiegel revealed yesterday that the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) had warned Germany weeks ago that there was a possibility of an attack on gas lines in the Baltic Sea.
Spiegel wrote, quoting informed sources, that the CIA informed the German government this summer. Berlin also believes that the attack on Nord Stream 1 and 2 gas transmission lines was targeted.
