A number of British veterans have committed suicide after their defeat in Afghanistan

The British Deputy Secretary of Defense said that the scandalous departure and defeat of the British in Afghanistan has led to the suicide of a number of British veterans.

According to the International Pak Sahaft group, James Hippie, the British Deputy Secretary of Defense for Armed Forces, said on Monday that a number of British soldiers had committed suicide following the tragic defeat in Afghanistan.

According to Reuters, Hippie said, a number of British veterans who took part in the war in Afghanistan have committed suicide because the disgraceful departure from the country and the re-occupation of the Taliban has destroyed them.

The senior Pentagon official added that he had heard about Taliban control over all of Afghanistan and that the situation in the Panjshir region had not changed.

Last week, Matthew Miller, director of the U.S. Veterans Affairs Office’s Suicide Prevention Unit, said the center’s telephone counseling hotline was overcrowded.

According to the US official, on August 16 (August 25), a day after the Taliban took control of Kabul, the lines of contact with the center increased by twelve percent compared to last year. These calls on August 25 (September 3) increased by 17% compared to last year.

According to published statistics, more than 7,000 American soldiers have been killed in US wars and operations since 9/11. In contrast, some 30,000 American soldiers have committed suicide in the same period.

With the tumultuous withdrawal of US troops and their allies from Afghanistan after 20 years of occupation, the Taliban are now in control.

The Taliban announced today (Monday) that they had taken control of the Panjshir Valley, where the group’s opponents had camped. However, Panjshir forces denied the news and said the clashes were continuing.
