A group of Moroccon representatives opposed the trade agreement with Israel

Pak Sahafat – A group of MPs of the Moroccon parliament are gathering votes for a draft plan against the economic and trade cooperation agreement that the country’s government signed with the Zionist regime on February 21, 2022.

According to Pak Sahafat News Agency, an informed source from the Maghreb “Justice and Development” party told “Hespers” news website today (Sunday) that the parliamentary group of this party is voting against the draft law that cancels the economic and trade cooperation agreement between the Morocco and the Israeli regime.

On February 21, 2022, the Moroccan government signed an economic and trade cooperation agreement with the Zionist regime in Rabat, the capital of the country, which was met with widespread protests by the people and a number of representatives of the country’s political parties and activists.

He added: It is expected that the Morocco House of Representatives will approve this plan tomorrow (Monday) immediately after the oral questions session.

This source pointing out that the parliamentary group of the Justice and Development Party in the Foreign Affairs, National Defense, Islamic Affairs and Morocco living abroad voted against the economic and trade cooperation agreement between the Maghreb and the Israeli regime, said: This position is the same position that will be expressed in the general session of the parliament on Monday.

He stated: The parliamentary group of the Maghreb “Justice and Development” party will hold a meeting on Monday morning to announce the official position.

The mentioned source clarified: Although Saad al-Din al-Othmani, the former prime minister and former secretary general of the Justice and Development Party, signed an agreement to resume relations with the Israeli regime in December 2021, the party voted against this agreement.

He pointed out that the continuation of the Israeli regime’s policy of abusing the Palestinians requires opposing this agreement, and added: The former prime minister signed this agreement as a representative of the government, while this party is now freed from the restrictions of government work.

Previously, Morocco had signed a tripartite agreement with America and the Israeli regime, according to which America recognizes the Western Sahara as the land of Morocco, and Morocco agreed to resume relations with the Israeli regime.

A number of members of the Morocco Parliament have emphasized several times that the resumption of relations with the Israeli regime will not mean giving up the struggles of the Palestinian people and their right to establish an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.

The people of Morocco have expressed their opposition to the normalization of relations between Morocco and the Zionist regime many times by coming to the streets and holding gatherings and burning the flag of the Zionist regime and calling for an end to it.
