A full-scale war crime in Jenin; where do the claimants of human rights stand?

Pak Sahafat – The two-day attack of the Zionist regime on the Jenin camp, which resulted in the martyrdom of 12 Palestinians and the displacement of 3,000 others, although it ended due to the rocket response of the resistance from Gaza and the martyrdom operation in Tel Aviv, but it raised the question once again that indeed the Western societies and the claimants Where do human rights stand?

According to Pak Sahafat News Agency, the Zionist regime, following the crimes of the past eight decades against the innocent Palestinian people, this time on Monday morning targeted the 14,000 Palestinian refugee camps in Jenin. As a result of this massive military attack, 12 Palestinians were martyred, more than 120 were injured and more than three thousand people were displaced.

The declaration positions of people such as “Gil Hagari”, the spokesman of the army of this regime, reveals the failure of the Zionist mission in Jenin, who said: The lack of information in the Jenin operation made it difficult to achieve all the objectives in the said camp, and many armed people had left the camp, including the same person who killed a settler in southwestern Yemen last week.

The strategic importance of Jenin camp

Jenin, in the north of the West Bank, has been a thorn in the side of the invaders for a long time, and all the attacks and expeditions to Jenin and its camp have so far been unsuccessful, the camp, which is the main gathering center for Islamic Jihad and Quds Brigade supporters. This part is the northernmost city on the bank of the Jordan River, which is connected with many cities and towns of the Zionist regime, and for this reason, it is strategically in a sensitive situation and can be considered one of the centers of resistance in Palestine.

The cowardly escape of the Zionists from “Jenin” under the blows of the Palestinian resistance

The name of this camp resonated for the first time in the story of the offensive operation of the Israeli regime in the West Bank in 2002 in the region and the world, and for the first time the face of this camp’s resistance against the invaders became known.

In that year, during the prime ministership of “Ariel Sharon”, the Zionist army carried out several large-scale operations in Jenin to destroy the resistance in this area. Therefore, the forces of the Zionist regime destroyed this camp with 150 tanks, armored personnel carriers, combat helicopters, and F16 fighters, along with 2 infantry battalions, commando teams, and 12 armored bulldozers. In this battle, 52 Palestinians were martyred and 13 thousand people were displaced and homeless.

On the other hand, the West Bank of the Jordan River and the city of Jenin are also important for the Palestinians because they can infiltrate the territories of 1948 from these areas and carry out operations there. In fact, they want to destroy the center of resistance. Therefore, today, after more than two decades, not only the resistance in the region has not disappeared, but the type of weapons and their generation has undergone serious changes and improvements.

The meaningful silence of the West in the face of full-scale war crimes

A look at the crimes committed by the Zionists in the last two days in the Jenin camp indicates a full-scale war crime because the Palestinian rescuers and ambulances could not access some areas due to the damage and conditions caused by the bulldozers and shelling of the Zionist army. Meanwhile, Jenin has not seen this number of serious injuries since 2002.

The repeated attacks of the Zionist regime on various areas of Palestine, especially “Jenin”, have caused global concerns, and during the recent attack, Muslim countries such as Iran, Saudi Arabia, Maghreb, Oman, Bahrain, Egypt, etc. condemned these attacks and crimes.

For example, Iran’s interest protection office in Cairo strongly condemned the crime and brutal aggression of the Zionist regime in the city of Jenin and emphasized that the amount of daily crimes committed by the Zionist regime exceeded the alleged human rights violations of the West.

Contrary to the strong and serious positions of the mentioned countries, institutions and organizations that apparently support human rights remained silent in front of the brutal massacre, killing, displacement, violation of human rights, destruction of property and bombing of this camp.

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres is deeply concerned, and UN Deputy Spokesman Farhan Haq in a statement spoke of the organization’s efforts to mobilize humanitarian aid and recommended full compliance with international humanitarian laws. However, no action was taken to stop the Zionist attacks on Jenin.
