2022 and widespread executions in Saudi Arabia

Pak Sahafat – Western sources revealed an unprecedented increase in the executions of death sentences in Saudi Arabia.

According to the report of the International group of Pak Sahafat news agency, Saudi Arabia has become a land of execution and terror, and western sources report a doubling of executions in the land of Al Saud.

The French news agency published a report that the number of executions in Saudi Arabia has doubled compared to last year. On Thursday, Saudi Arabia executed a Saudi citizen and a Jordanian for smuggling amphetamine pills.

In this way, the number of people executed in this country since the beginning of 2022 has reached 138 people based on the compilation of official execution statistics published by the Saudi government.

Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia executed a total of 69 death sentences in 2021, a total of 27 sentences in 2020, and a total of 187 sentences in 2018.

In a statement, Amnesty International called these executions a sign that Saudi Arabia does not respect the voluntary moratorium on executions in drug-related cases approved by the Saudi Human Rights Council in 2021.

Last March, Saudi Arabia executed 81 people in one day on charges related to terrorism, which resulted in widespread international reactions.

This is while in early November, the Committee for the Defense of Human Rights in the Arabian Peninsula issued a statement examining the dangerous human and human rights situation in the Riyadh Criminal Court against Saudi citizens, from political prisoners to activists and demonstrators.

This committee pointed out that the court has issued death sentences to a group of citizens for trying to use their right to express their opinions through social networks or by participating in peaceful marches for freedom, justice and social equality.

This committee stated that “Youssef al-Manasif”, “Abd al-Majid al-Nimr”, “Javad Qariris”, “Fazel al-Safwani”, “Ali al-Mabiyoq”, “Mohammed al-Bad”, “Mohammed al-Faraj”, “Ahmed al-Tindah”, “Hassan Zaki al Faraj” and “Ali Al-Sabiti”, who are all children and minors, have been sentenced to death under group sentences.

The Committee for the Defense of Human Rights in the Arabian Peninsula explained that a few days ago, the Saudi judicial system announced another death sentence of Saud al-Faraj, Jalal al-Bad, Abdullah al-Drazi, Haider al-Tahifah, Hossein Abu al-Khair, Sadiq Thamer, Jaafar Sultan, Ahmed al-Abbas, Hossein al-Farj, ” Menhal Al Rabh”, “Hussein Al Ibrahim”, “Al Sayyed Ali Al Alavi”, “Hussein Adam”, “Ibrahim Abu Khalil Al Howaiti”, “Shadli Ahmad Mahmoud Al Howaiti” and “Attullah Musa Muhammad Al Howaiti”.

Emphasizing that the Saudi regime’s track record in executing citizens is very serious, this committee added: In March of this year, 81 people, including 41 political and ideological prisoners, were executed simultaneously in this country.

This statement added: Enslaving human lives under the oppression of an autocratic government through the political judicial system and unfair trials in which there is no transparency and the most basic elements of justice, reveals the crimes and violations that the people have been subjected to by the regime and the system.

This committee called on the international community and human rights organizations in the world to act seriously and quickly, this massacre that is predicted and the gross assault on the lives of the citizens, which is against the law and human rights with various false excuses and accusations.

The Committee for the Defense of Human Rights in the Arabian Peninsula emphasized: One of the reasons that encourages the Saudi regime to violate human rights and increase the number of executions of political and ideological prisoners is the international silence regarding these crimes and massacres and the failure to deal with the crimes committed and the failure to sanction the Saudi government.

This committee warned the Saudi regime against committing these massacres and emphasized: justice will avenge them after some time and the people will not forget these crimes and this disgrace will be recorded in the history of Al Saud and their authoritarian regime.

According to this report, the Saudi government has executed hundreds of death sentences and, despite all the promises made to stop these types of sentences, it has issued new sentences at the same time.
