Zardari: The development of relations between Pakistan and Iran continues strongly

Pak Sahafat – Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari emphasized the importance of recent developments in economic and border relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran and added that the development of Tehran-Islamabad relations continues strongly.

According to Pak Sahafat News Agency’s report from Pakistan National Television on Saturday, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, in an interview with Al Jazeera, stated that during his trip to Iraq, he also discussed the resumption of relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia with the country’s officials and praised Baghdad’s role in advancing the peace process.

He added that now we are witnessing the official reopening of the embassies of Iran and Saudi Arabia, which is not only for the benefit of the two Islamic countries, but also good news for the entire region, which is in line with the stability of regional peace and stability.

Recalling his visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran last year, Zardari said that he recently accompanied the Prime Minister of Pakistan on a trip to the common border point with Iran and met with the president of this country, the purpose of which was to exploit the border market and the project of transferring electricity from Iran to Pakistan.

He emphasized that the strengthening of bilateral relations and cooperation with Iran continues strongly, as Pakistan is determined to develop relations with other important players in the region, including Russia.

Iran’s first border bazaar in the former Sistan and Baluchistan with Pakistan was opened this year by the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Seyed Ebrahim Raisi and the Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif.

One day after the meeting of the leaders of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Pakistan, the cabinet of the government of Pakistan convened a meeting chaired by the prime minister and it was announced that the foreign minister of this country will travel to Tehran at the head of a high-level delegation to accelerate the implementation of bilateral agreements.

Regarding the bilateral relations with the Republic of Iraq, the Foreign Minister of Pakistan also said that cooperation in the fields of defense and security between the two countries will be expanded.

He added that good agreements were made with the Iraqi authorities and in this regard, we decided to open the Consulate General of Pakistan in Najaf Ashraf to expand cultural relations and religious tourism, and the work in this regard will be done quickly.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said about Pakistan’s complex relations with Afghanistan and the current situation in interaction with the Taliban government that the main solution to dealing with Afghanistan’s issues is constructive interaction with the ruling body of this country.

Acknowledging the lack of commitment of the Taliban to address the concerns of the international community, he added that the rulers of Afghanistan were committed to provide women’s rights, girls’ education and take effective steps to fight against terrorism, which of course we did not see.
