The federal government has started pondering on replacing IG Sindh

The federal government has started pondering on replacing Sindh Inspector General of Police (IGP) with an officer who would not take pressure from the PPP-led Sindh government. The demand to change IG Sindh has gained momentum as the federation has started considering Sindh IG and now he will replace with a 21st grade officer from KP or Punjab. Quoting sources, the TV channel reported that consultations are underway among PTI ministers, MNA and MPAs in this regard.

“Concerns of MNAs and MPAs have been conveyed to the federal media while PTI Sindh disappointed with the role of Sindh IG and Sindh Chief Secretary in the arrest of Haleem Adil Sheikh,” the TV channel reported. The demand for a change of IG came up for the first time in the meeting of PTI MPAs from Sindh.

“Asif Ali Zardari proudly stated that there was no political prisoner in his tenure. But what you say now.  Haleem Adil Sheikh is in your own province,” Senator Shibli Faraz said.   “First they demolished the farmhouses of Haleem Adil Sheikh but they did not stop there. They attacked Haleem Adil and tortured him,” the information minister claimed. “Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is the only government that expelled those who sold votes in the 2018 elections. Who will be against transparency? Those who are conspiring to extort money. Such politics must be defeated. The attitude towards them is not acceptable at all,” he further added.
