Lavrov: Russia and Pakistan are together to shape the new world order

Pak Sahafat – Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that Moscow will not back down from its commitment to expand cooperation with Pakistan under any circumstances, and that the two countries are working together to form a more just multipolar world order.

According to Pak Sahafat News Agency’s report, In a message on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and Pakistan, Lavrov added that the relations between the two countries have experienced different periods in the past 4 decades, however, Russia has always been interested in expanding cooperation with Pakistan and under no circumstances will it abandon its commitments.

He stated: Russia, together with its Pakistani partners, stands for a more just and democratic multipolar world order and we respect the cultural diversity and civilization of the Pakistani people and their right to determine the paths of their political, social and economic development.

The Russian Foreign Minister said that the country welcomes Pakistan’s active participation in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization as a permanent member of this organization, which plays an important role in establishing multilateral cooperation in Eurasia, and sees Pakistan as a key international partner of Russia in joint efforts to combat challenges and threats.

Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov visited Pakistan. This is Lavrov’s second official visit to Islamabad as the Russian Foreign Minister after 9 years.

On Sunday, the first shipment of Russian crude oil at below market price, which was recently ordered by the government of Pakistan, docked at the port of Karachi; A development that the Prime Minister of Pakistan interpreted as a new phase in relations with Russia.

In an interview with Al-Jazeera last Saturday, Pakistan’s foreign minister said that Islamabad’s neutral stance towards the war in Ukraine is stable and at the same time Pakistan is determined to develop stable relations with Russia.

Despite the stonewalling of the West in the path of cooperation between the countries of the region, and on the other hand, the efforts of the Americans to spread their cold war with China to other countries, Pakistan has taken careful steps to deepen relations with the important players of the region, including Iran and Russia, especially in the field of removing the dollar from the equation.

Pakistan and Russia, who are known as old enemies and today’s friends, have taken many steps to expand military-defense cooperation in recent years along with deepening political and economic relations.
