America’s dual approach to Pakistan’s nuclear program

Pak Sahafat – The United States always takes contradictory and dual positions in front of Pakistan’s nuclear program, on the one hand, it states that it is not worried about the safety of its nuclear arsenals, and on the other hand, regarding Pakistan’s receipt of a loan from the International Monetary Fund. It raises the precondition of improving the safety of this country’s arsenal.

According to Pak Sahafat News Agency’s report from Pakistani media on Monday, the government of this country has always faced the double and unilateral approach of the United States against its nuclear program and consider it as an excuse and a tool for Washington’s pressure against Islamabad, while the Centcom commander claimed that the United States is not worried about the safety of Pakistan’s nuclear arsenals.

Along with India, America, Russia, China, France, Germany, Zionist regime and North Korea, Pakistan is considered among the possessors of nuclear weapons in the world with about 165 nuclear warheads in its arsenal.

In 1998, Pakistan conducted a nuclear test in response to India’s actions. This country has several series of nuclear and ballistic missiles. This South Asian country hosted Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency.

However, Pakistan, India, and of course the Zionist regime, despite having nuclear weapons, are not among the signatories of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).

The new positions of the top American general about Pakistan’s nuclear programs are mentioned while the recent days of Pakistani politicians are against foreign pressures and above all the pressures of the United States on the country’s nuclear and missile programs, which they believe are aimed at stonewalling Pakistan’s request for a loan from the International Monetary Fund is taking place, they strongly expressed concern.

Although Pakistan’s Prime Minister’s Office and Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly rejected any pressure on Islamabad’s nuclear programs, some political leaders of Pakistan have demanded clear positions from the Prime Minister.

At the same time, America and some of its western allies have always been blamed by Pakistan for putting pressure on Islamabad’s missile and nuclear programs.

Mark Milley, the head of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, claimed last year that he warned Joe Biden about the threats facing Pakistan’s nuclear program and the country’s security due to the rapid withdrawal of the United States from Afghanistan.

In October of this year, the President of the United States, Joe Biden, also considered Pakistan’s nuclear programs to be inconsistent and dangerous, which, of course, faced the anger of Pakistani leaders, and then the Prime Minister of Pakistan’s coalition government, Shahbaz Sharif, also called Joe Biden’s words false and misleading.

According to this report, the commander of the US Central Command (CENTCOM) yesterday said at the hearing meeting of the Armed Forces Committee of the US House of Representatives that Pakistan is currently facing a crisis of budget, livelihood and political chaos.

Michael Kurila stated that terrorism is another challenge facing Pakistan that after the end of the ceasefire between the government and the terrorists, the attacks of the Pakistani Taliban intensified.

Referring to his recent meeting with the commander of the Pakistani army, he claimed that Washington is comfortable with Pakistan’s nuclear programs and is confident about its security and protection measures.

At the beginning of March this year, a senior politician and a member of the Senate of Pakistan expressed his concern about the pressure on Pakistan’s nuclear programs and relations with the country’s strategic partners, referring implicitly to the coercive policies of the United States and at the same time the tough conditions of the International Fund for granting loans to Islamabad.

Senator “Reza Rabbani” from the Pakistan People’s Party, who was the head of the Senate between 1993 and 1996, warned America with an implicit reference: The people of Pakistan have a right to know whether the country’s nuclear program is under pressure or not.

He further expressed his concern whether Pakistan is under pressure to facilitate the military presence of an “imperialist power” in the region and whether the people of Pakistan do not have the right to know that Islamabad’s strategic relations with China are in danger.

However, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan announced last week that the country’s nuclear and missile programs are never on the agenda of negotiations with any country or international organization.
