Why Israel has no place in Africa?

Pak Sahafat – The expulsion of the representative of the Israel from the African Union Summit is a scandal and a shot in the arm for the project of normalizing relations between Tel Aviv and the countries of the Black Continent; a project that has been implemented in recent years in spite of the hatred of the Muslim and Arab citizens of the region, for the countries of the Middle East.

Every day, the news of the scandal of the officials and representatives of the Zionist regime is reflected in the world media, and recently the news related to the expulsion of “Sharon Parley”, the deputy director of African affairs in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of this regime, from the 36th meeting of the heads of the African Union in Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia; An issue that showed that despite the full support of the West for Israel, African countries cannot tolerate the representative of a regime that is known to kill children.

In this connection, “Abdulbari Atwan”, the editor of Rai Alyoum newspaper, wrote in a report: The racist and fascist occupying government has no place in the circles of African countries and their noble leaders; This terrorist government is the biggest ally of the apartheid system in the African continent and has supported it with money and nuclear technology; This government has committed massacres against the Palestinian nation, looted its land and resources, and killed its children by coercion and with the support of someone who calls itself the free democratic world led by American terrorism.

What is Israel looking for in the Black Continent?

The connection between the Zionist regime and the Great African Sahara can be traced back to the late 1950s; When Israel recognized Ghana’s independence in 1957 and in 1958, it established an institution called the Israel International Development Cooperation Agency to support independent African countries. In 1963, the first embassy of the Zionist regime was established in Kenya, and in this way, the way for Israel’s influence in the African continent was opened through the diplomatic gate.

At the level of the African Union, the Organization of African Unity, which was formed before this union, allowed the Zionist regime to be an observer member in this organization. But after the dissolution of the said organization in 2002 and the formation of the African Union, Israel lost this position. Since then, the Zionist regime has made great efforts to become a member of the African Union.

Transactions between the Zionist regime and African countries show that Israel’s strongest relations in this continent are with Western, Central and Eastern countries, and it currently has diplomatic relations with 46 of the 55 African Union member countries. Previously, the decision of this union to give the status of observer member to Israel was also a new plan in order to improve the image of the Zionist regime and strengthen its influence in the African continent, which was defeated by the expulsion of the Tel Aviv representative.

Palestine, China, United Kingdom, Kuwait, United Arab Emirates, Mexico, Kuwait and Greece currently operate as observer members in the African Union. The countries that have the position of observer member in the African Union are not able to make decisions or vote in the said union, but this position allows them to establish a closer relationship with African politicians and also influence their decisions.

Therefore, it is possible to understand the motivations of the Zionist regime to gain observer status in the African Union. In 2013, the African Union gave Palestine the status of an observer member in order to have a chance to be present on the African continent against Israel’s ambitions. On the other hand, the Zionist regime recently found out that African countries represent a big bloc in the United Nations and other world organizations.

Therefore, Israel’s membership in the African Union means helping this regime in gaining support and adopting an international position against the Palestinian issue, as well as gaining the support of African countries regarding the political issues of Israel’s interest in the United Nations and international forums.

The scandal of the “normalization” project from the Middle East to Africa

The Zionists have been trying to penetrate African countries for years. Their efforts to communicate with Sudan, Ethiopia and several poor African countries can be examined in this framework. But there are also free and independent countries like Algeria and South Africa, which are oppressing the occupied Palestinian nation with the Israeli regime as a racist regime, they are not compatible and are against the presence of this regime in the African continent, and at the opening meeting of the African Union tried to expel the Israeli delegation from this meeting.

Israel is also trying to advance the project of normalizing relations with African countries, and the expulsion from the African summit was contrary to the predictions of Tel Aviv and its Western supporters, and this caused them to react sharply.

Even though some African countries are interested in normalizing relations with Israel, the view of the people of these countries towards the Zionist regime has always been negative and hostile. As an example, relations between the Maghreb and Israel have become normal, but in the polls conducted in the Arab world, it is indicated that the people of the Maghreb have the strongest positions towards the Zionist regime. Therefore, this situation prevails in all Arab countries, and this situation will make it more difficult for Israel to enter Africa and establish relations with Sudan and other African countries.

In connection with the other side of normalizing relations with the Arab countries of the Middle East, there is also a gap between the authorities and the people. Although the Arab rulers have sought to “normalize” relations with Tel Aviv to a certain extent, or to be more precise, “revealing” relations, but the Arab nations has still shown their strong opposition to any improvement in relations with Israel, which by looking at the polls, we can see the depth of this difference.

A public survey by the Washington Research Institute shows that there is no positive view of this normalization of relations among the public opinion of the Arab world, and many citizens of the Arab world consider this normalization of relations to be a Zionist conspiracy and playing with the agenda of the United States.

According to this survey, while the positive attitude towards the agreement to normalize relations with the Zionist regime was around 40% in 2020, it has reached less than 20% in 2022. Now the number of people who see the agreement as somewhat positive or very positive in Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and the UAE fluctuates between 19 and 25 percent.

Also, the opposition to allowing commercial or sports relations with Israelis remains 85% in Egypt and 87% in Jordan despite long-term official relations. Countries with no ties to Israel – official or unofficial – are more strongly opposed. 94% of Kuwaitis and 93% of Lebanese were against this issue, and 77% of Lebanese and 88% of Kuwaitis strongly reject it.

The Arab Barometer Institute’s survey data regarding the public opinion index of the Arab world show that many Arab citizens have a deep disagreement with their government regarding the normalization of relations with Tel Aviv. According to this survey, in the 11 countries surveyed, less than a fifth of their citizens support normalization agreements with Israel. This figure is 8% in Mauritania, 7% in Libya, 6% in Palestine, 5% in Jordan and Egypt, and only 4% in Algeria.

Looking at the results of the polls discussed above, one can understand why the Arab and Muslim people treated the Zionist journalists in the World Cup in Qatar and now the expulsion of the representative of the regime from the African Union Summit.

With all the efforts and tactics that the leaders of Tel Aviv have used in Africa and even the Middle East in order to normalize relations, but because of the hostile and hateful view of the people, this project is followed by the Arab political systems with fear and trembling; Like the pressure of public opinion on the Saudi authorities, which has prevented the normalization of relations between Riyadh and Tel Aviv so far.
