The former US president, while reiterating his claim of victory over Joe Biden in the 2020 presidential election, called the Republican leader McConnell in the US Senate a “bastard.”
Former United States President Donald Trump addressed a Republican National Committee meeting and slammed his Democratic opponents as well as Republican critics, including Republican leader Mitch McConnell in the Senate.
The Washington Post reported on Trump’s speech at the Mar e Lago Club in Florida without the presence of the American media, quoting a attendee.
According to the pro-Republican newspaper, Trump described Mitch McConnell, the leader of the Senate in the US Senate, as a “stupid bastard” in a speech to a number of Republicans in Congress.
In the last days of his presidency, Trump repeatedly attacked McConnell, a senior Republican senator from Kentucky, and some other Republicans in Congress for acknowledging Joe Biden’s victory and ignoring Trump’s allegations of widespread presidential fraud.
According to the Washington Post, Trump devoted much of his speech Saturday night to repeating his “false claims” about winning the 2020 presidential election and accusing Republicans of failing to support him in overturning Biden’s victory.
In the speech, Trump repeatedly called for unity in the Republican Party, but also attacked Republican members of Congress who voted in favor of his impeachment because of the January 17 attack on Congress, but his sharpest verbal attack was against Mitch McConnell.
The former president claimed that his support for Mitch McConnell led to his victory in the Kentucky Senate election, and also took a stand against McConnell’s wife, Allen Chao, who was Trump’s secretary of transportation.
“I hired his wife (in my own cabinet),” Trump said. “Did he (McConnell) ever thank me?”
In another part of his speech, Trump once again attacked Mitch McConnell with verbal attacks, calling the number one Republican in the US Senate an “insensitive loser.”
According to the Washington Post, Trump did not speak directly about his plans for the 2024 presidential election in this speech, and only said that he is confident that the Republican candidate will win this election.
He repeatedly referred to the 2020 presidential election and the defeat of Joe Biden, reiterating his allegations of widespread fraud, particularly in Georgia and Pennsylvania, and criticizing Republican politicians, especially Brian Kemp, the governor of Georgia, for Confirmation of Biden’s victory made verbal attacks.
In this speech, Trump once claimed that even most Democrats believe that he won the election from Biden, but do not talk about it out loud.
The former US president claimed about the number of his supporters in this rally: “Some people say there were more than a million people because they were offended by the fraud.”
Trump also took a hard line against Anthony Fauci, director of the US National Institute of Infectious Diseases and Allergy. Fauci was in office during Trump’s presidency and has remained in office since Joe Biden took office.
The former president praised his and his administration’s performance in fighting the Corona virus in the United States, claiming that someone had recently suggested that the corona vaccine should be called “Trumpcine”. Trumpcine is a combination of the name Trump and the Vaccine.
The former president used the opportunity to speak Saturday night to attack Biden’s position in light of the recent cross-border news crisis and the issue of asylum seekers and immigrants.
By taking a racist stance against immigrants and asylum seekers, Trump reiterated his 2015 rhetoric at the start of the presidential election campaign, calling them “aggressors and murderers.”
