The Saudis use oil dollars to advance their goals at the United Nations

Al-Saud, which has always used oil dollars to bring together officials from other countries and international organizations, has repeatedly made financial offers to UN officials to trample on the blood and rights of the Yemeni people.

In addition to bribing UN officials, the Saudi regime uses the use of oil dollars and force to influence and influence other regional and international institutions, especially the Arab League, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the Gulf Cooperation Council.

Saudi officials, who carry out their work with bribes and oil dollars, have repeatedly offered bribes to UN officials to end its investigation into human rights abuses during the war against Yemen.

The Guardian reported two days ago that Saudi Arabia, through its lobbying at the United Nations, had resorted to all sorts of actions, from bribery and financial incentives to threats to force members of the UN Human Rights Council to vote against.

The report states that Saudi Arabia’s successive pressure to close the UN investigation into the Yemeni war has led to 21 countries voting against 18 last October and the UN Human Rights Council investigating.

According to the report, Saudi Arabia has also been active in threatening members of the Human Rights Council, including saying that Riyadh lobbies have warned Indonesia that Indonesians could even travel to Mecca if they do not vote against continuing the investigation into the Yemeni war; Following the threat, Indonesia was one of 21 countries that voted against continuing investigations into the Yemeni war.

Accordingly, the vote, which was supposed to focus on being questioned about possible Saudi war crimes, ended at the end of the investigation, which remained unfinished.

The failure of the Human Rights Council on the war crimes in Riyadh’s war against Yemen came as a number of international lawyers in London on behalf of some victims of the Yemeni aggression called for a global investigation into the war crimes committed by Saudi aggressors against the Yemenis.

The Saudi-led Arab-American coalition’s six-year war against Yemen has left many casualties, especially among women and children, and has destroyed the Islamic Republic’s infrastructure, as well as those who survived the attacks.

The first public betrayal of UN to the Yemeni people took place in 2016, during the time of Ban Ki-moon, when Saudi Arabia was removed from the UN blacklist.

In that year, Riyadh was blacklisted by the United Nations for violating the rights of children in war zones after Saudi Arabia and its allies, such as the UAE and the United States, invaded Yemen because of their involvement in crimes against Yemeni children. It intensified its pressure on the United Nations to remove its name from the list.

It was after threats and pressure from Saudi officials and Saudi consultations in the corridors of the United Nations that then-UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon was forced to issue a statement announcing the decision to form a coalition, with the sole purpose of appeasing Saudi Arabia against terrorism!! It is tasked with removing it temporarily from the black list of child rights violators for further consideration.

At the same time, the removal of Saudi Arabia from the list of the worst countries violating children’s rights in Yemen, along with the aggressor coalition from the UN blacklist, sparked a wave of sharp criticism of the UN around the world, and it was later revealed that “Ban Ki-moon “the then Secretary-General of the United Nations took bribes from the Saudis to commit this betrayal.

At a time when many countries and organizations were protesting the actions of Ban Ki-moon and the United Nations, Mark Toner, the then spokesman for the US State Department, confirmed the action of Ban Ki-moon, saying that “we agree with the position of the UN Secretary-General and believe We have that this organization should be allowed to fulfill its duties and responsibilities! Act in the field of protection of human rights and children without any fear of retaliation.

Of course, in recent years, Saudi officials have always tried to carry out their activities by bribing UN officials and other heads of state, which in most cases have been successful, but in some cases, such as the brutal murder of “Jamal Khashgechi”, a Saudi journalist in September 2016 at the Turkish consulate in Istanbul, and the Saudis tried to silence the case by bribing Turkish officials, but they did not succeed.

A source close to the Turkish president at the same time reported that King Salman’s special envoy had offered a bribe to Recep Tayyip Erdogan to cover up the case of Jamal Khashgeji, a journalist critical of the Saudi regime.

The American newspaper “New York Times” wrote in September 1397, quoting a source close to the President of Turkey, that “Prince Khalid al-Faisal, the emir of the Mecca region, went to Turkey as part of the official delegation of Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz and met with Erdogan on the tenth of this month. During the meeting, he offered Ankara an incentive package to close the case of Jamal Khashgeji.”

According to the newspaper, the package included financial and investment aid to help the Turkish economy end the siege of Qatar. The newspaper quoted the source as describing him as a close ally of the Turkish president, adding that at the same time, Erdogan rejected Khalid al-Faisal’s offer, calling it a “political bribe”.

One of the most important bribes in the history of Saudi Arabia and the United States is the $ 460 billion purchase of weapons under former US President Donald Trump, which Riyadh used to support Trump’s invasion of Yemen by the Arab League, while also supporting American armament factories and the US economy.

Arab sources claimed that the Saudi ambassador to the United States had donated the money to him in the form of “support for a charity” that works in the fight against cancer, because Toller has two children with cancer who are in one of the hospitals of New York under care and treatment.

According to these sources, Toller did not accept the direct receipt of this amount in Saudi Arabia and transferred it to the bank account of his daughter to support the fight against cancer so that the arrangements could be made through the charity.

On the other hand, informed sources announced that the US ambassador received luxury gifts such as a gold dagger and a Rolex watch during the 1397 visit of the then US President Donald Trump to Riyadh, which was widely welcomed by Saudi Arabia.
