The reasons for the decrease in Arab nations’ support for the normalization of relations with the Zionists

Pak Sahafat – The results of a survey show the negative attitude of the Arab nations towards the agreements to normalize relations with the Zionist regime for various reasons.

According to the report of the International group of Pak Sahafat news agency, as the third year of the normalization of the UAE and Bahrain with the Zionist regime approaches, the so-called “Ibrahim” agreement has not yet been able to attract the support of the people of the Arab countries of the Persian Gulf.

According to Al-Khalij Online, it seems that the numerous cooperation agreements and various projects signed between the compromise countries and the Zionist regime have not attracted the support of the people of the Arab countries of the Persian Gulf region for the normalization of relations with Tel Aviv.

This is the subject of a new survey conducted by a think tank based in the United States, which shows that the people of the Arab countries of the Persian Gulf region do not support the agreements to normalize relations with the Zionist regime.

According to this survey, only 27% of respondents in the United Arab Emirates and 20% in Bahrain consider these agreements to have a positive impact on the region. Meanwhile, in 2020, 47% of people in the UAE and 45% in Bahrain agreed with the normalization of relations.

At that time, it was claimed that these agreements would be part of the conflict resolution process between the Palestinian parties and the Zionist regime.

Despite Washington’s pressure to follow its neighbors, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain, Saudi Arabia did not join the normalization of relations with the Zionists, while 20 percent of Saudis have a positive opinion of this normalization.

“Sharhbil Al-Gharib”, the head of the International Relations Forum for Dialogue and Politics, announced that the decrease in support of the people of the Persian Gulf countries for the normalization of relations with the Zionist regime is a new issue.

In an interview with Al-Khalij Online, Al-Ghareeb emphasized that the decrease in the support of the people of the Persian Gulf countries for the normalization of relations with Israel shows their lack of confidence in the legitimacy of these agreements, especially that they consider the recognition of these agreements to mean legitimizing this regime and forgetting the cause of Palestine.

He mentioned several cases that show that the Arab nations are against the normalization of relations with the Zionist regime. One of these cases was in last year’s World Cup in Qatar, where the Arab nations of the Persian Gulf countries rejected the presence of Zionist flags and raised the Palestinian flag and chanted slogans in solidarity with Palestine.

This political analyst believes that people are aware of the goals and plans of the Israeli regime regarding the normalization of relations with Arab countries, and this makes them unhappy with the establishment of relations between their countries and Tel Aviv.

The general opinion of the people of the Arab countries of the Persian Gulf region is clear in rejecting normalization, and perhaps the most prominent evidence of that was the widespread solidarity of the people with “May bint Muhammad Al Khalifa”, the head of the Department of Culture and Antiquities of Bahrain, because of her refusal to shake hands with the ambassador of the Zionist regime in Manama. .

The reason for this removal, even though he is a member of the Al-Khalifa family, was that he refused to shake hands with the Zionist ambassador in Bahrain on June 16, 2022, at a ceremony held at the home of the American ambassador in Bahrain.

Stephen Bundy, the US ambassador to Bahrain, held a funeral ceremony on the occasion of his father’s death, during which he invited some ambassadors and officials, including Eitan Naye, the ambassador of the Zionist regime to Bahrain, and May Bint Mohammad. The American ambassador also asked his embassy not to publish any pictures of this Bahraini official at the funeral ceremony.

After that, virtual activists from Bahrain and Arab countries declared their solidarity with this deposed Bahraini official.

Sharhbil Al-Gharib further added that the Zionist regime has not been able to satisfy the people of Arab countries to accept it due to its actions in Jerusalem and the West Bank, as well as the systematic killing and repression of Palestinians.

He believes that the governments of the Arab countries have also come to the understanding that “the Zionist regime is a cancerous tumor” and cannot be accepted. They are also aware of the goals of this regime to influence the region and implement their ambitious plan.

Another aspect that shows the decrease in the support of the people of the Arab countries of the Persian Gulf, especially the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain, for the normalization of relations with Israel, is that Israel predicted that the so-called “Ibrahim” agreement would lead to an increase in tourism in the territories be occupied.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Zionist regime announced in a statement to “Associated Press” in early January: “Despite the fact that two years have passed since the signing of the Ibrahim Agreement, the arrival of tourists from the Arab countries of the Persian Gulf to Israel has not reached the desired level.

The ministry added: “Although more than half a million Israelis have visited the United Arab Emirates, especially Abu Dhabi and Dubai, only 1,600 Emirati citizens have visited Israel (the Occupied Territories) since the lifting of the coronavirus restrictions.”

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Israeli regime also announced that the number of Bahraini tourists is very small.

Stating that the consequences of normalization are expected, Al-Ghareeb stressed that the reduction of support from the Arab countries of the Persian Gulf indicates the strengthening of attention and adherence to the Palestinian cause, the Quds issue, and support for the Palestinian people.

He added: On the other hand, this issue shows the failure of the Israeli regime’s policy and the retreat towards the normalization of relations, which the Prime Minister of the Zionist regime, “Benjamin Netanyahu” boasts, will try to expand.

This political analyst emphasized the need to exploit the consequences of this issue to support the Palestinian cause and prevent the penetration of false Israeli propaganda in Arab consciousness.

He stated that Israel expected Saudi Arabia to establish diplomatic relations with Tel Aviv, but Saudi Arabia shocked the Zionist circles by establishing an agreement with the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Al-Ghareeb believes that the Israeli regime is experiencing a political crisis, both internal and external, and is trying to make the normalization of relations appear to be a political achievement, which is completely contrary to reality.

Anna Jacobs, one of the senior analysts of Persian Gulf affairs at The International Crisis Group, also announced that a recent survey showed that the public opinion and opinions of people in the Arab countries of the Persian Gulf are much more important to the leaders of these countries than some people think.

The Zionist newspaper “Israel Hum” recently announced that many Saudis believe that the normalization of relations with Israel is on the decline, which means that most Saudis reject the normalization of relations with Israel completely, as well as cooperation with Israel against Iran.

Previously, the Israeli Radio and Television Broadcasting Organization (KAN) announced in a report that it is unlikely that Israeli officials will be able to convince Saudi Arabia to normalize relations with Tel Aviv in 2023.

According to analysts, the normalization of relations between Saudi Arabia and the Israeli regime is inevitable; However, Riyadh has been monitoring the situation to take this action if the obstacles are removed and the conditions are created; although he violates his alleged principled positions on the Palestinian issue.

Zionist officials, including Benjamin Netanyahu, have repeatedly talked about the imminent normalization of relations with Saudi Arabia under the supervision of the United States.

However, despite all the efforts of American officials, Saudi Arabia has not yet agreed to establish official relations with Israel.
