The reasons behind the removal of the ousted president of Yemen by Saudi Arabia

Pak Sahafat – A well-informed Yemeni official has released new and unexpected information on the factors that prompted Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to hasten the ouster of ousted Yemeni President Abd al-Mansour Hadi.

The official said in an exclusive interview with the London-based Rai Al-Youm newspaper on Tuesday: One of the factors that accelerated Abdurrahman’s ouster is a two-hour closed-door meeting with US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan during his recent visit to Riyadh without the presence of any Saudi officials.

The official, who did not want to be named, added: Saudi Arabia’s ruling Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman was outraged by the meeting, and expressed his anger by deciding to oust Abdurrahman and form a Yemeni Presidential Council to replace him. The council was formed under the chairmanship of Rashad Mohammed al-Alimi and with the participation of the leaders of the Yemeni armed groups opposed to the Yemeni Ansarullah movement.

The official also explained that Nasser and Jalal, Abdurrahman’s children, are under house arrest in an unknown location on charges of corruption.

It is worth mentioning that the two-month ceasefire in Yemen entered its second month with the end of the holy month of Ramadan.

According to the report, sources close to the Yemeni Ansarullah movement stated in this regard: The extension of the ceasefire seems difficult because the Saudi side does not adhere to the most important clauses of the ceasefire, namely the reopening of Sanaa airport and the issuance of unloading permits for all the tanker ships taken hostage near the port of Al-Hudaidah.

A few days after the UN announced a two-month extension of a humanitarian ceasefire in Yemen, Abdurrahman Mansour Hadi relinquished all powers to the Presidential Council, chaired by Al-Alimi, and seven other members on April 7th.

In this regard, the Wall Street Journal recently emphasized that the Saudi Crown Prince Abdurrahman Mansour Hadi was forced to stay and his contacts and communications were restricted.

The Wall Street Journal added: He forced Muhammad bin Salman Abd al-Barba to resign and hand over all his powers to the Presidential Council and told him: “With the agreement of the Yemeni leaders, the time has come for you to be removed from power.”

The newspaper also revealed: The Saudis threatened to release Abdurrahman if he did not step down.

Saudi Arabia launched a large-scale offensive against Yemen, the poorest country in the Arab world, on 2015, in a coalition of several Arab countries, including the UAE, with the help and support of the United States and the Zionist regime.

Contrary to the Saudis’ expectations, their attacks hit the stronghold of the Yemeni people’s resistance, and after seven years of stability and painful Yemeni attacks deep in Saudi territory, especially repeated attacks on the facilities of the giant oil company Aramco, Riyadh was forced to hope. Get out of the swamp of war in Yemen to agree to a ceasefire in the country during the holy month of Ramadan. However, reports indicate that the Saudis have repeatedly violated the ceasefire.
