The comedians who played Biden / why did the United States not defend Ukraine?

Zelensky’s naive request for Ukraine’s membership in NATO was just one of several cards that were supposed to push the United States and NATO into completing a project to contain Russia.

Pak Sahafat News Agency, International Group After a long pause in response to Ukraine’s request for help, the White House finally acknowledged on the third day of the battle, while Russian forces arrived in Kiev, that “the war with Russia is not in our interest!”

This confession certainly embittered Ukrainian President Vladmir Zelensky more than anyone else, a comedian who jumped from the stage of a popular comedy series to the political arena without knowing that with all his acting skills, he was against them.

Even a week before the start of the war, during a Munich security conference, the president laughed at Ukraine, which could hardly hide the frustration in Ukraine these days, and urged NATO to be “honest” and at least to admit this.

But the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, despite claiming to have opened its doors to applicant countries, never intended to take Ukraine under its wing.

US and European justification for not defending Ukraine

For the United States and its European partners, Zelensky’s naive request for Ukraine’s membership in NATO was just one of several cards he was thought to have used in political gambling to push them toward completing Russia’s deterrence project.

As a result, NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg never said he would close his doors to Ukraine, but key members of the military alliance, with their word-playing skills, conveyed a similar concept to the Kiev government. Europe and the United States do not want a direct confrontation with Moscow because Russia is a nuclear state,” French Defense Minister Florence Parley, for example, said in justifying non-military intervention in the Ukraine crisis.

Conflict between the United States, France, or Britain, which are themselves nuclear powers, with Russia could derail the conventional weapons of war and lead to nuclear war, while the world is ready to face it, despite all the friction in the layers of power.

Completing the answer to the question of why the United States and its European partners refused to send troops to Ukraine, fears of a world power conflict that could lead to a third world war are paramount, while the West thinks it can use long-term means.

Meanwhile, although European countries are gradually agreeing to cut off Russia’s access to the Swift system, but the fact is that receiving gas from Russia will also be problematic when the country loses contact with the Swift system, because European recipients of Russian gas will not be able to pay for it to Russian companies.

At the same time, the degree to which countries depend on Russian gas plays a direct role in their opposition and agreement to Moscow’s severance from the interbank international transfer system.

Internationally, given Russia’s high share of global markets for wheat, oil, gas and metals, there are serious concerns about its elimination from world trade.

Thus, the heaviest punishment envisaged in the Western sanctions package against Moscow is the disconnection of the Russian banking system from the global Swift network, while by imposing this sanctions, the damage itself (Europe) can be equated with the damage to another (Russia).

Zelensky in the dark spot of European history

In what is being claimed, the West’s defense of Ukraine will ultimately give the Kiev government weapons to last a few more days against the Russian armed forces or, in the most generous possible way, to oust Zelinsky out of Ukraine and grant him asylum. Even now, in the scenario of the fall of Kiev, a role has been defined for him, which was unveiled by US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin. According to the head of the Pentagon, military forces loyal to Zelensky who remain in Ukraine can be trained from a distance!

Zelinsky, meanwhile, as a comedian caught up in an unprecedented tragedy, finally tweeted as Russian forces reached the gates of Kiev that the West “only claims support but leaves us alone.” He also silenced all Western leaders on his Twitter page on Friday night in a silent protest.

Zelensky, however, is stuck in a dark spot in European history, as Moscow officials say, although he is still considered Ukraine’s president, they do not want him to continue in power.

In Russia’s preferred scenario, it would be better for Zelensky to relinquish power and pave the way for free elections in negotiations that are more understandable before the fall of Kiev to Russian forces, while the army’s defiance of him could even end far.

At the same time, French President Emmanuel Macron says: The war is back on the European stage, and if I have to give a definite opinion, I have to tell you that this process is taking a long time and we have to prepare for it.

The French president’s claim can be seen as a continuation of the Western bloc’s confrontation with Russia.

Given the heavy sanctions imposed on Moscow officials and the Russian economy, it seems that for an indefinite period of time, diplomatic channels of engagement will often come to a standstill, signaling a return to the Cold War.

But the Ukraine crisis is both an opportunity and a challenge for the main actors in the power scene. The Western bloc, for example, hopes to bring Russia to its knees with back-breaking sanctions and increase its deterrent power. But on the other hand, Moscow also hopes to strike a balance of power in order to get the world out of a unipolar state. Now we have to wait and see where this confrontation will end.
