In a new update to their investigation into the origins of the coronavirus, US intelligence agencies have said that the origin of the virus may never be known, as there is widespread controversy.
The U.S. intelligence service has released a new and more accurate version of its investigation into whether the corona virus was transmitted from animals to humans or leaked from a laboratory, saying it may never be able to determine the source of the virus.
The Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) said in a report that Natural origin and laboratory leakage are both plausible hypotheses about how corona first infected humans, but at the same time analysts disagree on which theory is more likely or not to make a definitive assessment at all.
The report also denied allegations that the corona virus was developed as a biological weapon, saying proponents of the theory “do not have direct access to the Wuhan Institute of Virology” and have been accused of spreading false information.
The report is an update to a 90-day review released by the administration of US President Joe Biden in August.

The Chinese embassy in Washington criticized the report.
Liu Peng Yu, spokesman for the Chinese embassy in Washington, said in a statement: The US attempt to rely on its own intelligence apparatus instead of scientists to trace the origin of the corona is a completely ridiculous political show.
“This only undermines science-based studies on the origins of the disease and hinders the global effort to find the source of the virus,” Liu said in a statement.
About two months ago, the US intelligence community released a brief, non-confidential summary of its investigation into the origins of Covid-19, stating that the virus was unknown to the Chinese government before it became widespread in late 2019.
The report said the outbreak was a natural occurrence and was not caused by biological weapons.
Earlier, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi called the US report “unscientific” and said that in this report, the US government completely ignores the results of previous research conducted by the World Health Organization (WHO) and pursues this new research only to “advance its political goals.”
