11 years of Bahraini popular uprising; 11 years of global silence

Pak Sahafat – The people of Bahrain today (Monday) mark the 11th anniversary of the “February 14 Uprising” as the international community becomes increasingly conservative in the face of Al Khalifa’s repression.

According to Pak Sahafat news agency, the Bahraini popular uprising against the crimes of the Al-Khalifa regime, which began on February 14, 2011, continues despite the fast of silence of international and human rights institutions against the repressive actions of the ruling regime in Bahrain.

The people of Bahrain fought against the British before the February 14 revolution, until 1971, and from then until 2011 they rose up against the Al Khalifa government to establish a national government, not a hereditary one.

Since February 14, 2011 (eleven years ago), Bahraini political and civil activists have taken steps to fulfill civil and political demands in this small Gulf country, but because of Al Khalifa’s severe repression and arbitrary detentions, they have achieved their goals of victory.

Studies of the Bahraini revolution after February 14, 2011 show that the people of Bahrain, who have long been working for political reform in the country, from the beginning, they have called for a change in the constitution of the country, according to which free parliamentary elections will be held, and the parliament will have the right to question the king, that is, the establishment of a constitutional monarchy in this country.

Second, the king does not have the right to appoint the prime minister as the country’s first executive, and the prime minister must be elected by popular vote through ballot boxes, and the executive must not be appointed by the king, while parliament must oversee the government and ministers must gain the vote.

Other demands of the protesters included the return of deportees, the release of political prisoners, the lifting of the ban on party formation, freedom of expression and the press, equality between all groups, including the Shiite majority and the Sunni minority, the cessation of libertarian arrests and the lifting of censorship.

But the king of Bahrain, instead of paying attention to the initial demands of the protesters during these 11 years, has ordered the killing of people and the crimes committed against the protesters, and has resorted to the Saudis to further suppress the peaceful protests; To the extent that he brought the Saudi military and security forces to Bahrain with the aim of suppressing the protesters and destroying mosques, Husseiniyahs and disrupting the religious rites of the Shiites.

Opponents of the Al-Khalifa regime believe that the Saudi regime has “occupied” their country by sending 1,000 troops and security forces, calling it a “declaration of war.”

The Islamic Jamiat al-Wefaq, Bahrain’s largest opposition, has declared the Saudis a declaration of war against civilians and peaceful protesters, and in response to Riyadh-Manama cooperation to suppress the Bahraini popular uprising, stressed that “Any entry of bombs and warplanes into the air or land border of Bahrain is a military occupation and a declaration of war against the people of Bahrain.”

Bahrain, on the other hand, is one of the main US military allies in the region, and US military, naval, and logistical bases in the Persian Gulf are located in its waters, and these repressions are certainly supported by the United States, which claims to be the cradle of civilization.

In addition, it is now more than one that the King of Bahrain has made public within the framework of the normalization agreement and compromise with the Zionist regime in order to officially open the Zionists to Bahrain and suppress the Bahraini popular uprising from Zionism in the military and intelligence spheres.

Since February 14, 2011, the time of the popular uprising against it, the Al Khalifa regime has detained more than 11,000 Bahraini citizens on trumped-up charges and stripped many opposition figures of their citizenship.

Amnesty International said in a statement last year that 10 years after Bahrain’s popular uprising, systematic injustice had intensified, with political oppression blocking all space for freedom of expression.

Bahrain Coalition Statement on February 14 on the Eleventh Anniversary of the Popular Uprising

The Bahraini Coalition issued a statement on February 14 on the occasion of the 11th anniversary of the popular uprising against Al Khalifa:

The February 14, 2011 Bahraini Uprising came after years of lies, deception and hypocrisy by the Al Khalifa regime to circumvent the legitimate demands of Bahrainis and prevent people from participating in political decisions.

Some opposition parties tried to reform under the dome of the distorted parliament, but to no avail. Thus, the uprising of February 14, 2011, which was started by the revolutionary youth of the resistance, ignited and the majority of the people joined it in Al-Lulu Square and in the unprecedented historical arena to end the tyranny and totalitarian dictatorship.

The February 14 uprising came to write a new political history in Bahrain and create an earthquake whose effects are still ongoing. The popular uprising of February 14 came to realize the necessary national rights, the most prominent of which is the creation of a pluralistic political system that derives its existential legitimacy from the will of the people.

The February 14 uprising called for the overthrow of the totalitarian monarchy, the departure of Al Khalifa from Bahrain, an end to tyranny and dictatorship, and the establishment of a pluralistic democratic political system, in which hundreds of Bahrain’s best sons have sacrificed their freedom and dignity.

The goals of the February 14 Coalition Revolution are as follows at the end of its statement issued yesterday (February 13) on the occasion of the 11th anniversary of the popular uprising:

1.We and the people of Bahrain will continue jihad and struggle until the goals of the martyrs are achieved, and the flag of the revolution will remain raised until the achievement of the promised divine victory with the fall of the dictatorship (Al-Khalifa regime) and the liberation of our people from the dark era of oppression.

2.We count on the abilities of our people, men, women and youth to achieve change, create new equations and establish a real citizenship government.

3.We are fully convinced that the key to democratic change is the dismantling of US, British and Israeli military bases and their expulsion from Bahrain.
