Sanaa International Airport has been closed by the Saudi coalition since 2016, and flights from the airport have been suspended.
Earlier, the head of Yemen’s Supreme Political Council met with a UN envoy and said that thousands of patients were waiting for the reopening of Sanaa airport to demand a full ceasefire.
About two weeks ago, all offensive military operations by land, air and sea were suspended, and the UN Special Representative for Yemen stressed that the success of the initiative depends on the continued commitment of the warring parties to the implementation of the ceasefire agreement.
The terms of the firefighting contract include facilitating the entry of 18 fuel-carrying ships into the port of Al-Hudaidah and allowing two flights a week from Sanaa Airport to the airport.
