The Zionist regime is considering handing over the administration of Al-Aqsa Mosque to Saudi Arabia

Pakistani television site mmnews quoted unnamed Arab media as saying that the Zionist regime is considering a plan to hand over the administration of Al-Aqsa Mosque to Saudi Arabia.

The Pakistani website said that Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid mentioned this during a two-day visit to the UAE.

The site further noted that the Zionist regime has agreed to form the Al-Aqsa Mosque Administrative Council, and that Saudi Arabia will take over the management of Al-Quds through this council.

According to the site, Al-Aqsa Mosque will remain in the possession of King Abdullah II of Jordan, but it is unclear whether any other country besides Saudi Arabia will be a member of the council.

Earlier, on his first visit to the UAE, the Israeli foreign minister admitted that if tensions rise in Jerusalem, it will be reflected throughout the region.

Yair Lapid told a news conference in Dubai: “It is no secret that the unrest in Jerusalem threatens the whole region.”

He also attended a news conference during his recent two-day trip, but the UAE media did not react much to the trip. It is as if Lapid had not met with Muhammad bin Zayed, the real ruler of the country, but with his UAE counterpart, Abdullah bin Zayed. During his visit, he opened the regime’s diplomatic missions in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

The trip comes after the regime’s 11-day invasion of Gaza last May. The attack killed more than 250 Palestinians, 66 of whom were children.
