Suspension of Saudi coalition military operations in Yemen

Pak Sahafat – The Saudi coalition has claimed that it will suspend its military operations in Yemen, news sources reported Wednesday morning.

According to Pak Sahafat News agency from Al Jazeera, The Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Saudi Coalition said in a statement that the suspension of military operations in Yemen is aimed at the success of the Yemeni consultations.

The Saudi coalition added: The aim of the cessation of military operations in Yemen is to provide the right conditions for consultations and to make peace.

According to the Saudi coalition, their military operation will stop at 6 am today, Wednesday.

The Saudi coalition also said: We will adhere to the ceasefire and we will take all measures to create the right conditions for peace during Ramadan.

Consultations between the Yemeni parties under the auspices of the United Nations and with the support of the Gulf Cooperation Council in the absence of Ansarullah began in Riyadh on Tuesday and will continue until April 7th.

According to the report, the consultations will focus on six areas, including improving the military and political situation, humanitarian affairs, opening humanitarian corridors and achieving stability in Yemen.

Earlier, Mohammed Ali al-Houthi, a member of the Yemeni Supreme Political Council, rejected the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council’s request for Yemeni groups to participate in the Riyadh talks, saying that the invitation was in fact from Riyadh, while Riyadh itself is a party to the war.

A few days ago, the UN special envoy arrived in Yemen to prepare for talks with the Yemeni side. These negotiations are aimed at creating a framework for comprehensive political negotiations.

Last year, UN and US efforts for a ceasefire in Yemen failed, leading to escalating violence.
