Saudi air exercise begins with the participation of five Arab countries

Saudi media reported on Sunday that the country had begun air exercise with five Arab countries at Prince Sultan Air Base in southeastern Riyadh.

According to the official news agency of Saudi Arabia (WAS), the training called “Tawiq 2” began with the participation of Egypt, Jordan and Oman, along with Kuwait and Bahrain as observer countries.

According to the report, the joint exercise will last for two weeks and will include the planning and implementation of several flights.

The report adds that the purpose of this joint air practice is to increase operational readiness and training for tactical air operations.

The exercise began about two weeks ago when Saudi media reported the end of a joint US-Saudi air force exercise called Sarab Sahra 3.

Most US military bases in Saudi Arabia are currently located in the eastern part of the country, on the Persian Gulf or around Riyadh.
