Sana’s warning: the lives of thousands of dialysis patients in Yemen are in danger

Pak Sahafat – The deputy medical director of the Ministry of Health of the National Salvation Government of Yemen said: If this ministry does not receive any emergency equipment in February (this month), we will face a disaster that threatens the lives of patients suffering from kidney failure.

According to Pak Sahafat News Agency, Yemen’s al-Masira network (Thursday) quoted “Ali Jahaf”, deputy medical director of the Ministry of Health and Medical Care of the National Salvation Government of Yemen, adding: This ministry has only a few reserves [of blood] in dialysis centers, which may not last until next March.

After a year of waiting and running out of dialysis centers, the World Health Organization has asked the Ministry of Health of the National Salvation Government of Yemen to seek local financing.

Meanwhile, in a letter to the World Health Organization, the Ministry of Health of the National Salvation Government of Yemen expressed surprise at the international organization’s late response and denial of responsibility for Yemeni patients with kidney failure.

This ministry announced: The World Health Organization knows that Yemen is under siege and did not provide financial resources to deal with the catastrophic decrease in drug stocks and to solve the problems of dialysis patients.

Previously, “Mortaza Al-Mortaza”, the head of international cooperation of the Ministry of Health of the National Salvation Government of Yemen affiliated with the Ansarullah Movement, had warned that the lives of more than 4,000 patients with kidney failure were in danger due to the lack of medicine in this country due to the blockade by the Saudi coalition.

In January 2022, the Ministry of Health of Yemen warned about the depletion of Yemeni medicine warehouses as a result of the blockade, and asked the World Health Organization to provide the kidney failure medicines needed by Yemeni patients.

Saudi Arabia, in the form of a coalition of several Arab countries, including the UAE, and with the help and green light of the United States and the support of the Zionist regime, started large-scale attacks against Yemen – the poorest Arab country – from April 6, 2014.

After seven years of invading Yemen and killing thousands of people and destroying the country’s infrastructure, these countries not only did not achieve their goals, but they were forced to accept a ceasefire following the missile and drone attacks of the Yemeni armed forces deep into their territory.

This ceasefire was extended twice and ended on October 10, and due to repeated violations of the ceasefire by the Saudis and the failure to meet the legitimate demands of the Yemenis and the extravagance of the aggressor, it was not extended again.
