Pak Sahafat – Lebanon’s foreign minister said that Syria should return to the Arab League and his country always emphasizes the necessity of this and supports it.
According to Pak Sahafat News Agency’s report, quoted by the Lebanese Al-Nashrah news agency, “Abdullah Bouhabib” announced Beirut’s efforts regarding Syria’s return to the Arab League and added that proposals have been submitted to the Arab League in this regard.
He continued that his country supports the return of Syria to the Arab League and considers it very important.
Before leaving Beirut for Cairo to attend the meeting of Arab Foreign Ministers, Bouhabib added that Lebanon supports the return of Syria to the Arab League, and in this regard, a consultative meeting between the foreign ministries of the Arab League will be held soon and a decision will be made in this regard.

The meeting of Arab foreign ministers regarding the return of Syria to the Arab League is scheduled to be held in Cairo today. These Arab officials are also holding another meeting to review the situation in Sudan.
Recently, Ahmed Abul Ghait, the Secretary General of the Arab League, in an interview with the Saudi Al-Sharq channel, emphasized that the return of Syria to the Arab League in the upcoming meeting of the heads of Arab countries in Riyadh is “very likely” and this should be done gradually and in stages.
He added that the return of Damascus to its seat in the Arab League, which has been vacant since 2011, will first begin with holding a meeting and examining this issue, and then the member states of the Arab League will agree, and after that, Syria will be invited.
The Secretary General of the Arab League added that according to the contacts and actions taken, it is very likely that Syria will return to the Arab League at the meeting in Riyadh, which is scheduled to be held on May 19, unless something big happens.
