According to Pak Sahafat News Agency International Group, the Saudi Anti-Corruption Agency announced the issuance of preliminary court rulings against government officials accused of corruption after being referred to a criminal court in Riyadh.

The organization said in a statement that court rulings had been issued against government officials, municipal employees, high-ranking officers, businessmen and some citizens on charges of corruption.

According to the report, those charged with bribery, forgery, abuse of power.

The Saudi Anti-Corruption Organization stressed: The initial sentences were between imprisonment and a fine and in some cases the two sentences together, as well as imprisonment with deportation and a ban on entering Saudi territory.

Saudi officials have stepped up their surveillance and campaigns in recent months, submitting hundreds of cases to the judiciary in which hundreds of people, including princes, officers and government officials, have been sentenced to prison and fined.

Saudi officials have arrested a number of opposition figures on several occasions in recent years under the pretext of fighting corruption.

In 1396, King Salman bin Abdulaziz of Saudi Arabia ordered the formation of an anti-corruption organization headed by his son, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, following which dozens of current and former Saudi princes and officials were arrested.

The arrest and detention of Saudi officials on charges of corruption comes at a time when Saudi officials have not released details of the charges against them; In fact, there is no transparency required to handle such cases in the process of arresting the relevant defendants in Saudi Arabia. There is no exact information about the detainees.

Defending the wave of arrests of current and former Saudi officials and what he called the fight against corruption, Mohammed bin Salman claimed that he was trying to reform his country’s economy.
