Human rights organizations worry about medical negligence in Saudi prisons

A human rights organization has expressed concern about the deliberate negligence of medical staff in Saudi prisons.

According to the International Group of Pak Sahaft News Agency, quoting Al-Waqi Al-Saudi, a human rights organization says Saudi officials have deliberately deprived their prisoners of medical care as part of a policy of abusing and killing them silently.

The human rights organization Sindh stated that laws and regulations have been enacted to protect human beings against human rights violations, their freedom, their dignity, and that it is the duty of all systems and governments to respect these laws.

Due to the repressive policy of the Saudi authorities against the prisoners of freedom of expression, many brutal methods have emerged that undermine international law. One of the most prominent ways in which Saudi officials have been accused of violating international law is to deprive prisoners of their freedom of expression, which poses a threat to their lives.

Most prisoners of freedom of expression in government prisons lack the most basic health care. Many Saudi activists are in critical condition in Al-Saud prisons, and some of them, including Saudi poet and activist Abdullah al-Hamid, died of medical negligence, and today some activists, such as Al-Ghamdi and Salman al-Awda, Abdul Rahman Al-Sadhan and many others are still alive and suffer from a lack of medical services.

According to international law, all health conditions and meals with adequate nutritional value must be provided to prisoners so that each of them can meet his or her natural needs. Every prisoner has the right to exercise in the open air and other necessary medical care and health services.
