France investigates allegations of slavery against a Saudi prince

France 24 news network reported an investigation into allegations made against a Saudi prince on human trafficking and modern slavery in France.

French prosecutors said Monday they were investigating allegations that a Saudi prince held seven modern-day slaves in an apartment outside Paris, according to the French news network’s website.

The Office of the Attorney General in the northwestern French city of Nanterre has announced that an investigation into human trafficking has been launched following an October 2019 complaint by a group of women, mostly from the Philippines.

An informed source told the case: The servants who are said to be currently enslaved were employed in Saudi Arabia and worked for the prince and his family there and in France. He said the men managed to escape during a trip to France.
