Pak Sahafat – The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia, in a meeting with Amir Abdullahian, stated that the relations between the two countries created a new positive atmosphere in the entire region, and emphasized the country’s readiness to implement existing agreements between Iran and Saudi Arabia.
According to the foreign policy group of Pak Sahafat news agency, Hossein Amir abdollahian and Faisal bin Farhan, the foreign ministers of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Saudi Arabia (Thursday), held an official bilateral meeting in Beijing for the first time.
In this meeting, which took place after the recent agreement between the two countries last year in Beijing, Hossein Amir abdollahian stated that the official relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Saudi Arabia were officially activated today and said: According to the discussions held and the message exchanged between the King of Saudi Arabia and the President of our country, the will of the leaders of the two countries is on the development and deepening of relations between them.
Iran’s readiness to develop relations with Saudi Arabia in all fields of interest
He also expressed his satisfaction with the return of relations between the two neighboring, friendly and brotherly countries to a normal state. As well as investment, the Islamic Republic of Iran announced its readiness to hold a joint economic commission between the two countries.
The head of the diplomatic service of the Islamic Republic of Iran also pointed to the existing agreements between the two countries and added: the existing basic documents, along with the will of the leaders of the two countries, have provided the necessary legal and legal grounds for advancing the cooperation between the two countries in all fields.
It should be noted that the agreement on security cooperation between the two countries (17.4.2001) and the general agreement on cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, investment, technology, science, culture, sports and youth (27.5.1998) have been signed between the two countries.
In the meeting with his Saudi counterpart, the Minister of Foreign Affairs mentioned that the growth of economic relations and mutual investments can help to strengthen relations, he mentioned transit as one of the important areas of cooperation and said: The geopolitical position of Iran provides Saudi Arabia and the Persian Gulf countries with a unique opportunity for commercial cooperation with the northern countries of Iran.
He also expressed his satisfaction with the holding of this meeting and the activation of official relations between the two countries in the holy month of Ramadan, and considered it a good and blessed ground for the two countries and the countries of the region.
Saudi Arabia’s readiness to implement existing agreements with Iran
In this meeting, Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan also pointed to the opening of a new page in the relations between the two countries and the formation of new horizons in the friendly and brotherly relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia, emphasizing the readiness of his country to implement the existing agreements between the two countries and exchange delegations between Iran and Saudi Arabia welcomed.

Noting that the new relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia created a new positive atmosphere in the entire region, he said: We are ready to strengthen this positive atmosphere in regional relations with the help and cooperation of Iran.
Amir Abdollahian and Faisal bin Farhan also thanked and welcomed the mutual invitations from each other for a bilateral official trip to the capitals.
At the end of this meeting, a joint statement was signed between the foreign ministers of Iran and Saudi Arabia in the presence of the foreign minister of China. The foreign ministers of Iran and Saudi Arabia in Beijing, while agreeing to reopen the embassies of the two countries at the agreed time, emphasized their readiness to remove the obstacles facing the expansion of cooperation.
The meeting of the foreign ministers of the two countries will take place in Beijing after the recent agreement between Iran and Saudi Arabia last year. Based on that agreement, it was decided to reopen the embassies and consulates of the two countries within a maximum period of two months, and the foreign ministers of the two countries should discuss this matter in a meeting.
After the March agreement in Beijing, the foreign ministers of Iran and Saudi Arabia talked to each other on the phone three times. In the third conversation, they agreed to meet each other soon, and this meeting took place today in Beijing.
It should be mentioned that Amir Abdullahian and Farhan, the foreign ministers of Iran and Saudi Arabia, had a short meeting and conversation on the sidelines of the Baghdad 2 meeting in Jordan last year.
Relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Saudi Arabia were unilaterally cut off by Saudi Arabia following the rally in front of the country’s embassy in Tehran and the entry into this embassy as well as the Saudi Consulate General in Mashhad in response to the execution of Sheikh Nimr.
