Expressing UN concern over escalating tensions in occupied Jerusalem

As the Israeli aggression against the Al-Aqsa Mosque and Palestinian neighborhoods in the occupied city of Jerusalem intensified, the United Nations expressed concern about escalating tensions in the city.

UN Winsland Coordinator for the West Asia (Middle East) Peace Process reacted to the events in the occupied city of Jerusalem.

“I urge everyone to act responsibly and stay calm,” Winsland wrote on Twitter.

He added that everyone should respect the current situation of the holy places in the old city of Quds in order to maintain peace and stability.

According to Al-Quds Al-Arabi, the UN coordinator also called on political and religious leaders to intervene immediately.

Yesterday (Friday), on the occasion of the International Day of Al-Quds, the Israeli military martyred two young Palestinians in the “Salem” camp in the west of Jenin.

On the other hand, the Palestinian Red Crescent announced that about 205 people were injured following the attack of the Zionist regime‘s soldiers and the attack on the worshipers in Al-Aqsa Mosque, as well as the suppression of the sit-ins in the “Sheikh Jarrah” neighborhood of Jerusalem.
