Deportation and detention of about 14 thousand immigrants in Saudi Arabia

Pak Sahafat – The news sources of Saudi Arabia reported the deportation and arrest of about 14 thousand immigrants in this country during the past week.

According to Pak Sahafat News Agency report, the official news agency of Saudi Arabia announced that 13,939 violators of residence and work laws and border security were arrested in a joint field operation that was conducted from July 27 to August 2 throughout Saudi Arabia.

Of these, 31 thousand 109 people were referred to diplomatic delegations to obtain travel documents and 29 people were referred to complete travel reservations, and 7 thousand 969 violators were also deported.

Saudi authorities also foiled the attempt of 933 people to cross the border, 41% of whom were from Yemen, 58% from Ethiopia, and 1% from other nationalities, and 44 people were arrested for trying to cross the border abroad.

The Saudi Ministry of Interior warned that anyone who facilitates the entry of violators into the border security system into Saudi Arabia or moves them inside it or shelters them or provides them with help or services in any way, will be punished with imprisonment up to 15 years and a fine of up to one million Saudi Riyals will face the confiscation of vehicles and housing used for shelter.
