British media report on the defeat of Saudi ambitions in the Yemeni war

A British newspaper highlighted the growing defeat of Ansarullah in evidence of the defeat of Saudi ambitions in the Yemeni war.

According to Pak Sahafat News Agency International Group, the Middle East I newspaper reported that the city of Ma’rib, once the stronghold of the resigned Yemeni government backed by Saudi Arabia, has become a center of struggle for survival, indicating that Saudi ambitions have failed.

Website Saudi Leaks quoted the Middle East I newspaper as saying  that the shift in the position of Saudi forces on the Yemeni front lines marks a new phase in the war, and the removal of heavy military equipment and the closure of bases is a reason to try to get rid of the long-running conflict.

According to the newspaper, the Saudi coalition’s inability to withstand Ansarullah’s attacks is a clear sign of the Saudi coalition’s erosion.

International aid organizations have criticized Saudi Arabia’s recent attacks on Sanaa International Airport, which halted UN humanitarian flights and completely isolated millions of Yemenis from the world.

The main reason for Saudi Arabia’s defeat in the Yemeni war at the present stage is related to Ansarullah’s advances in Ma’rib. Even the Americans have sent a message to Saudi Arabia that the Yemenis feel they will be completely victorious in Ma’rib, so they are not willing to make concessions to the other side in any negotiations to end the Yemeni war.

The US-based Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) said in a report that the Yemeni Ansarullah movement has significantly increased its attacks on Saudi Arabia. The average number of Ansarullah attacks on Saudi Arabia and other targets on a monthly basis in the first 9 months of 2021 has more than doubled compared to the same period in 2020, from 38 attacks per month to 78 attacks.

According to this report; Ansarullah uses the method of attacking tankers and other naval targets and has carried out at least 24 attacks or attempts of this type using drones between January 2017 and June 2021.

The report also states that Ansarullah has developed significantly better drones at a relatively low cost, especially compared to Saudi Arabia’s air defense spending.

Saudi Arabia, at the head of a US-backed Arab coalition, has been waging a military invasion and land, air and sea blockade of Yemen since March 2015, claiming to seek a return to power.

The military aggression did not achieve any of the goals of the Saudi coalition and was only accompanied by the killing and wounding of tens of thousands of Yemenis, the displacement of millions, the destruction of the country’s infrastructure and the spread of famine and infectious diseases.
