British Human Rights Organization: Bin Salman doubles the repression of his prisoners of conscience

Grant Liberty, a human rights organization, acknowledged that Saudi officials had recently stepped up their human rights record due to the repressive climate in the country.

The organization stressed that repression in Saudi Arabia is witnessing a systematic persecution that perpetuates the reality of tyranny in the monarchy.

The organization said that despite the release of some prominent activists earlier in the year, the crackdown continued to see systematic harassment.

The organization stressed bin Salman’s efforts to silence human rights defenders and activists in the kingdom.

He explained that the number of harsh punishments for repression against prisoners of conscience last April was high.

It also criticized the secrecy and impunity of the media in the kingdom.

The British Grant Liberty Organization showed that the number of sentences was doubled in the first three months of 2021 in total.

The organization believes that the repressive campaign against political prisoners in Saudi Arabia is the result of the failure of the administration of US President Joe Biden and the lack of this punishment against Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

In addition, impunity gives Saudi officials the opportunity to punish their critics in prison.

The British “Grant Liberty” organization referred to the recent statement of dozens of civil society organizations about the history of repression of the Saudi opposition.

In addition, a member of the Sanad, Su Konlin, expressed concern about the continued detention of activists and Twitter users in Saudi Arabia, which led to the arrest of more than 13 people.

Connel said abuses and repression in Saudi Arabia have reached unprecedented levels and will have serious and significant repercussions.
