Al-Saud’s decision to destroy the Qatif Shiite neighborhoods

According to Saudi Leaks, the account of “Nasht al-Qatifi” revealed that the Saudi government has decided to demolish all the neighborhoods overlooking Al-Thawra Street in the center of Al-Qatif.

He further added that the aim of the Saudi government was to remove the streets that had witnessed protests against the Saudi government in March 2011.

The account stated that this was due to revenge against the houses that supported the protesters during the 2011 protests, as well as revenge against the families of the martyrs and prisoners of these popular protests.

According to some media reports, the Saudi government claimed that those who destroyed their homes would be compensated, but the people of al-Qatif refused to sell their homes; because they know that this will cause them to be displaced.

Last year, Saudi activist Mohammed al-Otaibi revealed important details of a secret correspondence between Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman about a new project to relocate thousands of Saudis under the pretext of development and construction.

Muhammad al-Otaibi announced: I received this letter and kept it secret to make sure it was correct. Unfortunately, a source in the royal court assured me that this decision was correct, which was postponed due to the crisis of the Corona virus epidemic.

Al-Otaibi added: “I tell the people of the Asir region to” defend your homes like your ancestors. “

Last year, Saudi activist Adel al-Saeed said that officials of the Al-Saud regime were seeking the demolition of a mosque in the Shiite district of Al-Awamiyah.

Regarding the reasons for Riyadh’s decision to demolish the mosque, al-Saeed said: Since the martyr Sheikh “Nimr Baqir Al-Nimr” was the Imam of the congregation and the preacher of this mosque, Imam Hussein [AS] Mosque has become a symbol and the authorities of Al-Saud are seeking the destruction of any symbol that is related to Martyr Al-Nimr.

Al-Saud officials are targeting buildings such as Al-Qatif Fortress, the Pearl Statue and Al-Masala Mosque, all of which are on Al-Thawra Street, with the plan to demolish the street, claiming that the street originated in the 2011 revolutionary movement.

Security forces are trying to demolish hundreds of homes in central al-Qatif, particularly in the area on al-Thawra Street, in order to relocate thousands. But its hidden intention is bigger and more dangerous.
