Continued protests against the desecration of the Holy Quran; British Muslims set Danish flag on fire

Pak Sahafat – Following the protests against the serial desecration of the Holy Quran in countries claiming freedom of speech, a group of Muslims gathered in front of the Swedish embassy in London and burned the Danish flag.

According to the Pak Sahafat News Agency, a group of Muslims living in London staged a demonstration in front of the Swedish Embassy in London early (Saturday) in protest against the action of the Swedish authorities in issuing a license to desecrate the Holy Quran.

Videos have been published on social networks showing that a group of Muslims gathered in front of the Swedish Embassy in London and demanded punishment for those who desecrate the Holy Quran and protested the inaction of the Swedish government against the extremists who burned the Quran in front of the Turkish Embassy in Sweden.

The images published on social networks also show Muslims protesting Danish and Swedish flags and the image of Rasmus Paludan, the leader of the Danish far-right party Hard Line, who burned the Koran in front of the Turkish embassy in Stockholm.

The demonstration was held in front of the Swedish Embassy in London, two days after the desecration of the Holy Quran in Sweden, which was already unprecedented, was repeated in the Netherlands, and recently, this desecration took place in Denmark.

On Saturday, the first of February, a number of extremist groups set fire to the Holy Quran in front of the Turkish embassy in Stockholm. In an anti-Islamic act, the spokesperson of the Swedish police said that they allowed the leader of the far-right Danish party Stram Kors to burn the Koran in the march in front of the Turkish embassy.

This action brought a sharp reaction from the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Islamic world and even some non-Muslim countries. The Foreign Minister of Kuwait condemned this insulting act, and Morocco, Indonesia, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates, Jordan and Saudi Arabia, the Secretary General of the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council also reacted sharply to this insulting act. The Speaker of the Jordanian House of Representatives also demanded an apology from Sweden. In Afghanistan, there was a strong reaction to this rash act.

In addition, in a statement, the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement, while condemning this action, asked Sweden to apologize to all Muslims in the world. Egypt’s Al-Azhar, while condemning the insult to the Holy Quran in Stockholm, demanded an immediate investigation in this regard. The Mufti of Yemen also asked the Muslim countries to cut off their diplomatic relations with Sweden and all countries that are openly hostile to Islamic holy places.
