Pak Sahafat – For the second time, the government of Pakistan refused to participate in the so-called democracy meeting hosted by the American president, which starts tomorrow and in virtual form.
Last year, Islamabad also refused to participate in the American show of democracy, and this time it said “no” to Washington’s invitation.
Diplomatic sources in Pakistan said: Considering the fact that the US did not invite China and Turkey to the virtual democracy summit and simultaneously invited Taiwan, this issue put Islamabad in a dilemma and made Pakistan prepare to withdraw from the US democracy summit.

These sources added: Beijing and Ankara are close allies of the Islamabad government and Pakistani leaders will never give in to displease their strategic partners.
According to this report, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan issued a statement today, while thanking America for the official invitation and stressing that Islamabad attaches great importance to the principles and values ​​of democracy, a day before the start of this demonstration summit, it wrote as Pakistan was not present at the summit in 2021, so it is not required to make any commitments regarding the title of this meeting.
In this statement, it is stated: Pakistan declares its readiness for bilateral consultations with the US and other partners of the democracy meeting separately regarding the promotion and strengthening of democratic principles and values.
