Hamas official: Israel’s goal in the ground operation plan is psychological warfare

The deputy head of Hamas political bureau said that in principle, this movement has no problem stopping the war, but the cause of the war, which is the encroachment on Al-Quds and Al-Aqsa Mosque, still exists.

Egypt, Qatar and the United Nations make daily proposals to Hamas, said Saleh al-Aruri, deputy head of Hamas’ political bureau.

“Hamas has no problem with stopping the war in principle, but the cause of the war, which is the encroachment on Al-Quds and Al-Aqsa Mosque, is still going on,” Sama news agency quoted Al-Aruri as saying.

He added that Hamas emphasizes freedom of worship in Jerusalem and an end to aggression.

The Palestinian official added that Hamas had received an offer of a three-hour ceasefire and an opportunity to reduce tensions.

Al-Awari noted: “We are against a three- or six-hour ceasefire … Hammas does not want a war. Our position for the mediators is that Israel declares an end to its attacks on the Palestinian people.”

He stressed that the purpose of the Zionist regime‘s threat to carry out ground operations is only a psychological effect on the Palestinian people, adding that the ground war is in the interest of the resistance forces.
